GOLD COAST TEEN Filmmaking Intensive is a high-stakes, 5-day immersion into the world of high-end filmmaking. This is the only program on the Gold Coast that puts a RED Cinema Camera and professional iMac editing suites directly into the hands of students with the skilled guidence of industry film professionals.
Under the mentorship of industry feature filmmaker Deborah Tamay, students will move through the entire professional lifecycle of a film—from mastering pre-production, cinematic lighting and camera operating to advanced post-production in DaVinci Resolve. For actors, they will dive into the world of on set life starring in class shot showreel scenes, collaborating with the filmmakers to create a unique short films which will screen to parents on the final day saturday.
Designed for 8 filmmakers and 8 film actors, we give you the opportunity to work together on a cinematic journey that produces showreel and portfolio content to get your teen ready for the industry.
Whether you’re an aspiring director, or an actor looking for high-end footage for your showreel, this intensive is designed to get you industry-ready. You’ll be training on the exact kit used for Netflix originals and global music videos.

* Try a range of different professional film gear such as Cameras, Tripods Lighting, Sound and Dolly equipment.
* Learn onset skills and industry language.
We spend the week as a professional crew. You’ll write, direct, and shoot an original short film, then jump onto our Apple iMac suites to learn the secrets of colour grading and sound design with DaVinci Resolve.

The 5-Day Roadmap
Day 1: The Cinematic Look. Hands-on induction with the RED Cinema Camera. The class collaborates on a high-end "Sizzle Scene" to master professional gear.
Day 2: Script & Prep. Students pitch, script, and rehearse their original concepts while mastering crew roles.
Day 3: Principal Photography. The "Big Shoot." Students rotate through Director, DP, and Sound roles to capture their vision.
Day 4: The Grind. Wrapping production and moving into the edit. First "Rough Cuts" are built on our high-performance iMac stations.
Day 5: The Final Cut & Premiere. Finishing the edit, color grading, and a 3:00 PM Red Carpet Screening for invited parents and friends.

Snacks Provided: We will provide light snacks and water throughout the day.
BYO Lunch: Students should bring their own packed lunch each day.
Local Shops: Alternatively, students may visit the nearby Burleigh shops during the lunch break, provided they have written parental permission (noted on the enrollment form).
