Aspiring Leaders Conference 2026

The Aspiring Leaders Conference is designed to build leadership capacity by supporting participants to explore, develop and enact leadership practices within schools with application to current or future roles. This conference recognises that leadership is not confined to formal positions; rather, it is cultivated through influence, initiative, collaboration and a commitment to improving teaching and learning.

Participants will engage in a series of interactive workshops focused on core dimensions of educational leadership and an evidence-based that explores a range of contemporary issues, perspectives and approaches to leadership in schools.

The conference will emphasise practical application, enabling staff to translate leadership theory into everyday practice within teams, classrooms and whole-school initiatives. The conference will also provide opportunities for reflection, discussion and collaborative problem-solving focused on real school-based scenarios and the challenges faced by emerging leaders.

Course Learning Goals:
1. Build knowledge, skills and understanding of the nature, purpose and roles of leadership in schools
2. Engage with evidence-based professional learning that informs the leadership of self and deepens an understanding of the dimensions
and capabilities which underpin effective leadership in schools

6.2.2 Participate in learning to update knowledge and practice targeted to professional needs and school and/or system priorities.
7.4.2 Participate in professional and community networks and forums to broaden knowledge and improve practice.
