Holocaust Memorial Service
About
We live in a world where dehumanisation, prejudice, and hatred continue to undermine the well-being of people globally. As we gather to remember the events of the Holocaust (1933-1945), we are deeply aware of the rise in antisemitism and of the tragic events that occurred at Bondi Beach, where members of the Jewish community were targeted at an event celebrating light and life. We are also deeply concerned by the rise in Islamophobia and racism. We invite you to join us as we gather to listen, to learn, to respond and to work together in mutual trust and respect to help create a more compassionate, peaceful and just world. We especially invite school groups to attend this event, recognising young people's contribution to this important work. This event is a continuing initiative of members of the Catholic, Anglican and Uniting Churches, and is supported by the Council of Christians and Jews (Victoria) and the Sisters of Our Lady of Sion, Australia.
