2026 GILSENAN CUP METUNG EASTER TENNIS TOURNAMENT

Its back!!!What began in 1987 in Gilsenan drive Metung as a casual fundraiser the Grahams hosted, the Gilsenan Cup quickly became a loved annual tradition every year.
Traditionally the Gilsenan Cup donated all profits to Noweyung (which has merged with another disability organisation in 2023) this year all profits will go to the Metung Lions Club.
The Metung Lions Club is integral to creating connection and enrich the community of Metung!
The day is not really about tennis, it’s casual and a bit of an excuse to get together with families and friends on Easter Sunday and burn off some chocolate!
All players are welcome! In 2026 we will run junior (under 10's) and outright.
Ideally each court plays mixed doubles if numbers allow.
Format: Fast 4 (first to 4, 5 point tie break if it gets to 3-3, no advantage, sudden death)
Start Time: All Players to meet at allocated court 8.45am for 9am start.
Final numbers will determine how many courts are required and a list for each court will be issued to registered players on saturday afternoon by 4pm.
Winners from each court to play finals from 1pm at the Metung Tennis Club (Behind Metung Yacht Club).
A court captain for each court to help run the round robins and keep scores and keep games moving.
Bring water bottles, hats, sunscreen, snacks, and picnic and a full esky for the finals!
