THEATRE WORKS Palmerston
Do you dream of a career on stage or in the performing arts, but not sure where to start?
THEATRE WORKS is a practical program for young actors to explore contemporary theatre in a way that mirrors professional rehearsal processes. Guided by experienced theatre artists, participants dissect scripts and develop characters for performance.
The program builds confidence, collaboration, and stagecraft, leading to an opportunity to present work to an audience, either through an informal class showing or public performance tracing the full journey from page to stage.
School Year Levels: 7-12
Day: Mondays
Time: 4:00pm – 6:00pm
Venue: Palmerston Recreational Centre, Community Room 1
HIGH FLYERS
This class is for aerialists who already have graduated from FLIGHT SCHOOL.
You are invited to specialise in one of three different options: Verticals (tissu/rope), Trapeze/Sling combo or, Lyra during the term. Combination options are designed that the students can experience the similarities and differences with aligned equipment and transfer skills between both. We aim to instil curiosity and exploration in their aerial journey. Classes include conditioning and strength developing your strength, flexibility and endurance in a fun and supportive environment.
This class is a springboard for participants who are interested in joining Troupe/ Zero Gravity in the future.
Ages: 9 – 18 years

Time: 4:15pm – 5:45pm
Venue: Corrugated Iron Performance Space
CIRCUS TROUPE
TROUPE is for young and emerging circus artists with a high level of skill and to desire to make performances and is Corrugated Iron’s most advanced level of circus artistry.
TROUPE encompasses all circus forms, with ensemble members working collaboratively to train and make new work for show, festivals and events.
Access through audition.
Ages: Up to 30 years
Day: Mondays
Time: 6:00pm – 8:30pm

COMPANY C
Company C is for emerging artists with previous performance experience and an interest in taking their skills to the next level. Working with arts industry professionals, Company C members will play a leading role in Corrugated Iron’s performance program and be drivers in the creation of new theatre work and productions.
Access through audition after graduating from THEATRE WORKS.

FLIGHT SCHOOL
Ever dreamt of learning to fly? Glide on in and join our introduction to aerials no matter what your experience levels are, have fun, learn tricks and develop performance skills.
FLIGHT SCHOOL builds on aerial foundation skills and develops core strength needed to get you up in the air and flying high! If you’ve seen cool tricks you want to try, this class will give you the building blocks towards reaching your aerial goals.
Ages: 9 – 18 years
Day: Tuesdays
Time: 3:30pm – 5:00pm

HIGH FLYERS
This class is for aerialists who have already graduated from FLIGHT SCHOOL.

ZERO GRAVITY
Want to develop your aerial awesomeness even further?
Come and hone your techniques and generate new aerial choreography in this invite only workshop. This workshop is open to Troupe aerialists and advanced artists who would like more time in the air.
Access through invitation only, after graduating HIGH FLYERS or ADULT AERIAL.

ACTING OUT Palmerston
Do you love making things up on the spot?
Then this class focused on improvisation and drama games is for you. No script required, just your imagination. ACTING OUT! is about having fun, making friends and getting creative.
School Year Levels: 3 - 6

Time: 5:30pm – 6:30pm

ADULT AERIAL
Adult Aerial is an introduction to all aspects of aerial arts. If you've ever wanted to climb a tissu or hang from a trapeze, this is the class for you! Whatever your level of fitness, we will meet you wherever you're at. Adult aerial will develop your core and upper body strength at a rate appropriate for you, in a safe and fun way.
Come join us for a dangle! Life is better when you're upside down.

BIG SPARKS Palmerston
Welcome to the Imaginarium: this is an action-packed introduction to the amazing worlds of circus AND storytelling!
Jump, dive and delve deeper into circus and performance skills, BIG SPARKS has an emphasis on body awareness, coordination, and balance. Participants will be introduced to acrobatics and tumbling as well as the development of characters and story.
School Year Levels: 2 - 6
Day: Wednesdays
Time: 3:30pm – 4:30pm

PLAY MAKERS
A place to play, make, and make plays!
PLAY MAKERS is for all budding performers and storytellers. We will explore fun ways to create characters alongside a range of creative ways to tell stories. PLAY MAKERS has a focus on skills development, with an opportunity to show off those skills to family and friends.
If you have a BIG imagination, PLAY MAKERS is for you!

LITTLE SPARKS is a class full of creative play. Through storytelling, music, movement and circus foundations, our littlest creatives will grow in confidence and develop their performance skills. It’ll be loud; it’ll be fun; it’ll be an epic imaginative adventure!

BIG SPARKS

NINJAS
Jumping, flipping and bouncing in stealth mode!
The sky is the limit in this multi-skilled class. With acrobatics and tumbling at its heart, you will also develop solo specialities and embed group work for performance. NINJAS is perfect for emerging circus artists wanting to have fun, develop extra skills and for Troupe members wanting extra circus time.
