All Abilities Sport Session at Olympic Leisure Centre
About
The All-Abilities Sports Day gives participants the chance to try a range of different sports in a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment. The session focuses on fun, participation and accessibility rather than competition. The session is suitable for adults with disability. Activities are adaptable to different ages and ability levels.
Accessibility Information:
The session will take place in an indoor sports court environment and is designed to encourage movement, participation and connection in a group setting. This is an active and energetic event and will involve group activity in a shared space. The environment is expected to be loud, with background noise from participants and activities.
The venue is single level with accessible entry to the hall. There are two accessible parking spaces located directly in front of the building. Accessible toilet facilities are available, including one large accessible change room with toilet and accessible showers located within the men’s and women’s change rooms. Please note that general change rooms are not currently accessible due to a gym refurbishment project. Lighting will be set at 100% for the duration of the sessions and cannot be adjusted. There is no dedicated low sensory or quiet space available at this venue.
Where possible and required, participants are encouraged to bring a carer or support person to the session – this must be noted in your registration and all support people are required to hold a valid WWC check.
