Schools' Community of Practice – Bullying and Cyberbullying
About
Hosted by Monash Health Health Promotion, this Schools' Health and Wellbeing Community of Practice (CoP) will focus on Bullying and Cyberbullying and feature special guests from eSmart and Dolly's Dream. The Alannah & Madeline Foundation works to keep children and young people safe wherever they live, learn and play and includes prevention programs such as eSmart and Dolly's Dream. Join representatives from these programs to explore the issue of bullying and online bullying as it is being experienced by Australian students. By unpacking some of the causes and risks that are leading to harm, we can then unpack tools and strategies that can be applied at both an individual and whole community level to support young people to thrive.
This session will focus on:
-A trauma informed approach to understanding how children and young people are experiencing harm due to bullying behaviour
-Recognising some of the risk factors that lead to bullying
-Insights from young people participating in Alannah & Madeline Foundation programs
-Tangible, pro-social approaches to mitigating bullying and online bullying
-Resources for educators, parents and students to embed the learning.
The free session is open to all schools, including leadership, wellbeing coordinators and school nurses, in Cardinia Shire, City of Casey and City of Greater Dandenong.
