Professional Development with Na Djinang Circus
About
This workshop invites performers and makers to explore how circus is generated from the body, how movement carries story, and how cultural dramaturgy shapes what an audience sees and feels. Led by Na Djinang artists, it offers a rare opportunity to train with Blak theatre professionals whose practice sits at the intersection of movement, culture and connection. You’ll build skills in movement based body work while engaging with approaches that centre story, place and lived experience. Expect a space that is responsive, grounded and open to where you’re at in your practice.
Together, we’ll explore the foundational principles that underpin this way of working, with a focus on process over polish. The workshop is adaptable and accessible, designed for a range of experience levels. You don’t need to be a circus expert to take part, just a willingness to move, listen and engage.
This workshop is suited to:
- Performance Artists
- Theatre performers
- Dancers
Our workshops aim to be welcoming and adaptable. To ensure we can provide the best and safest experience, we encourage organisers to discuss any access needs with us in advance so we can understand what support is required within our capacity.
