Kym Wilkinson is an Adelaide bassist who has been a Tom Waits fan for most of his life and in 2024 decided it was time to share the words and music of one of America’s most unique and underrated singer songwriters.Enlisting Guitarist David Biggs (Biggsy) and Vocalist and musician Steve Charles, Kym has curated and arranged a showcase of the music and charm of Tom Waits.
“Invitation to the Blues” is a showcase of Tom's material from the 70’s to the 2000’s and has been carefully curated to highlight, not only his biggest and most popular hits, but also tracks from his fourteen plus albums, that show Tom's deep emotive understanding, underdog life and his lyrical genius.
Following up from sellout Adelaide Fringe performances the show is again being performed this time at the iconic Semaphore Workers Club
