Getting started in Green Wood Spoon Carving
About
Join us for a journey into pre-industrial woodcraft. For centuries, spoons were carved from green wood fresh off the tree. Learn to use axes, sloyd knives, hook knives and other traditional techniques to craft your spoon like your ancestors did.You won't get your spoon totally completed in this workshop, but you will have made a great start. Most likely all you will need will be a whittling knife in order to complete your spoon.
No prior woodworking experience necessary. This workshop provides a great opportunity to begin a woodworking journey of discovery. Even if you are a seasoned woodworker, there are always new things to learn & experience.
Open to any women from anywhere in Perth, young and old, minimum age 12. Mums and grandmothers, this could be a great experience to share with your offspring. Kids are welcome to book in when accompanied by a paying adult. Maximum number of workshop participants is 8.
