Dekleva & Davis | In Recital
About
Following a successful solo tour of Australia’s eastern states and Singapore, James Dekleva joins Isaac Davis, Associate Principal Cellist of the Queensland Symphony Orchestra, for their second recital collaboration.
Experience the elegance of Schubert’s Arpeggione Sonata, a lyrical masterpiece originally composed for a now-obsolete six-string instrument, here reimagined on the four strings of the cello. This is followed by two masterpieces by Fauré: the hauntingly beautiful Les Berceaux and the deeply expressive Élégie in C minor.
The evening culminates in the vocal lyricism of Beethoven’s Adelaide and the explosive drama of his Sonata for Piano and Cello in G minor.
