About
The Cloud Factory is a playful story with a powerful message about environmental awareness,collaboration and team work. It is set in a fictional isolated valley town somewhere in regional North
Queensland. It is in urgent need of a new road to allow for emergency services and other important
community needs. Unbeknown to the outside world it is the children of the valley who control the
weather by working closely with nature. Using secret formulas in their Weather Lab, these young
scientists create clouds and control the weather in their assigned region. But when the
developers—known as the Boots in Suits—try to blast through the mountain to make way for a new
access road, the Cloud Factory is damaged, causing wild weather, floods, fires, and storms. In the end,
everyone must come together, combining their skills and knowledge to restore harmony. The show
will feature original songs, live soundscapes, handmade masks, and real science experiments on stage
to bring the Weather Lab to life.
