Ramona Salon: Friendship
About
Join us in an evening of guided conversation for our first ever Salon exploring Friendship at Ramona Books. In this salon we’ll discuss what friendship means to us, its characteristics and its significance in our lives.Friendship is at the heart of some of our most beloved works of fiction and the subject of several non-fiction books including:
On Friendship, Andrew O'Hagan, $24.99
Just Friends, Gyan Yankovitch, $34.99
Why Brains Need Friends, Dr Ben Rein $34.99
The Salon will also snapshot recent examples of non-fiction about friendship and question what contemporary friendship looks like and how it is shaped by the modern world.
It’s said that we’ve never been so connected but never been so lonely. We’ll look at the nature of real friendship and how our friendships hold up under the pace and pressure of life today?
The Salon on Friendship will be hosted by Gerald Frape, writer and former social cause communication strategist for Australian and international public campaigns. Gerald is author of the poetry collection Texere and regularly hosts salons exploring friendship, social issues, mindfulness and disrupting the current societal attention deficit.
Your ticket includes:
• a drink on arrival
• light refreshments
• your place in the salon
There are two ticket options. You can either simply grab your place for the evening ($20) or you can buy any of the above titles on friendship and pay just $10 to hold your place.
Come along for thoughtful discussion and good company. Whether you’re a regular or it’s your first time, you’re very welcome.
