End of Atlanteans - 40 Year Anniversary
Join Sydney Bus Museum as we retrace the last trip operated by Sydney's original generation of Double Decker buses. Whilst Double Decker buses have since returned, none ran from 1986 until 2011. The final trip was ran on Friday 16 May 1986, ran by Atlantean's 1014 and 1179. Our buses on the night will feature replica signage from the last trip, aswell as other historical memorabilia.
We will be recreating the last trip in it's true atmosphere, an end of the working week Friday night 189 express to Avalon on the Northern Beaches. We hope to recreate the atmosphere of the last night, and hope to have people who rode on the official last trip on board!
There will be photo opportunities throughout the trip including on the return. A short 1 hour dinner break will be available at Mona Vale.
Guests can join at both the Sydney Bus Museum at 17:00 and Wynyard at 17:40.
