Tamil new Year Thiruvizha 2026 is an event facilitated by the Ballarat Tamil Sangam Inc. in honour of the Tamil festival 'Tamil new Year'. The Tamil New Year is celebrated on the first day of the Hindu Solar Calendar. Popularly known as Puthandu celebrated in Tamilnadu, the Tamil New Year is celebrated starting with special pooja, feasting, visiting relatives and gathering of families and communities to welcome the new beginning with hope and optimism.
