Unfortunate Sons - Creedence Clearwater Revival
About
Between 1969 and 1971, Creedence Clearwater Revival produced 14 consecutive top 10 singles and 5 consecutive top 10 albums, creating a legacy that few artists have ever rivalled. Part of the magic was that the songs held a mirror up to society and spoke to the forgotten, the downtrodden, the disenfranchised. The person on the street could relate to John Fogerty’s lyrics. CCR created a body of work that infused into the consciousness of the public.Today, these songs are just as relevant as they were back then. The politicians’ names have changed, the wars are different, the marches in the street are for different causes, but the lies are still the same. The rich have gotten richer, the poor are struggling more than ever, the corruption has become more prevalent.
Paul Slattery and the Unfortunate Sons are breathing new life into these songs, keeping the fires burning, keeping the dream alive.
