Course at a Glance
M‑TRACS is a two‑day interdisciplinary tracheostomy management course delivered by Speech Pathology and Physiotherapy, in partnership with the Simulation Centre. The course provides a structured, evidence‑based approach to the assessment and management of adult patients with a tracheostomy across acute and high‑acuity care settings.
Using a combination of interactive teaching, case‑based discussion, and high‑fidelity simulation, M‑TRACS aims to strengthen clinical reasoning, role clarity, communication, and escalation of care within multidisciplinary teams.
Course Topics
Participants will develop confidence and competence in:
· Assessment and management of patients with a tracheostomy across ward, HDU, and ICU settings
· Discipline‑specific and shared roles in airway, respiratory, voice, and swallowing management
· Recognition and management of tracheostomy‑related clinical deterioration
· Tracheostomy emergencies and timely escalation of care
· Effective interdisciplinary communication and team‑based decision‑making

Monday 27th-Tuesday 28th July 2026
Course Timings: Two full days (8:00am-4:30pm)
Course Fees: $990 - This includes pre-reading materials, Catering for both days,Simulation Centre access,participation in a high fidelity simulation scenario and multiple facilitated multidisciplinary debriefing sessions
