En Plein Air - Masterclass with Mark Dober
About
Join Victorian artist Mark Dober for an intensive watercolor masterclass offered in conjunction with his exhibition at the Gallery. In this artist‑led session, participants will create two watercolor paintings using color reproductions of coastal works from Mark's exhibition as reference material. The focus will be on closely observing and reproducing the composition, color relationships and tonal qualities of each work.
Working step‑by‑step, learn as Mark demonstrates each stage of his process, before returning to practice skills learned direct from the artist.
This masterclass offers rare insight into Mark Dober’s working methods and watercolor techniques - how his paintings are constructed, how color and tone are developed, and how decisions are made in response to landscape. The emphasis is on learning through close looking and guided practice.
