Heartkids WA holds such a special place in our hearts, but this time it's personal 💛For our member Karina's family, the support of Heartkids WA has meant more than words could ever truly express. From the moment her family began their journey, they have been there—offering guidance, comfort, connection and understanding during some of the most challenging times of their lives.
Her beautiful boy Andre (who is now almost four years old) underwent an ASVD open heart surgery repair at only 8 months old by the incredible cardiologist team at Perth Children’s Hospital.
Watching a child go through something so big is something no parent can ever fully prepare for—but thanks to the support of the earth angel ladies at Heartkids, Karina's family (and many like hers) never felt alone.
Heartkids WA continues to walk alongside families like Karina's every single day—providing ongoing support, resources, and a community of people who truly understand the journey of living with childhood heart conditions.
They are there in the hard moments, the milestones, and everything in between.
For that reason (and many more) Karina has chosen to take part in the zipline on the day (with her costumed comrade Deadpool) and is personally fundraising for Heartkids WA.
Every single dollar raised helps them continue this life-changing work.
It helps families feel supported, seen and less alone—and that means the world to Karina and so many other Heartkids families.
