KNOWING HOW IT ENDS? One Act Plays
About
Bittersweet Productions curates and performs rarely seen one-act plays by famous and forgotten authors. Our new season presents two comedies and a drama all crafted with deft humour, exploring time and evanescence – nightmares and all!Caryl Churchill’s Seagulls is a sharp meditation on the power and impermanence of creativity, via the life and career of a very ordinary woman – who just happens to have one extraordinary power. Director: Sarah Carradine (Australian Stage Premiere).
Time Flies by David Ives is a delightful fantasy that telescopes a lifetime into a single day, full of intense yearning and discovery. Effusive with tenderness and joy, its motto seems to be - humans, seize the day! Director: John Grinston (Sydney Stage Premiere).
In Christopher Durang’s wild comedy, The Actors’ Nightmare, we encounter a surreal profusion of misplaced scenes from famous plays – all mediated via the fear and confusion of a forlorn accountant who unaccountably finds himself on stage. Director: John Grinston.
