Damian Wright ( flamenco guitar) and Gary Daley ( accordion and piano) form a unique duo exploring iconic classical and jazz music reimagined through an improvisational lens. Their performances unfold as a spontaneous musical conversation, where ideas, rhythms and textures are discovered in the moment. The warm, expressive harmonies of piano and accordion intertwine with the rhythmic brilliance and colour of flamenco guitar, creating music that is fluid, atmospheric and constantly evolving.Both musicians are premiere Australian artists. Highly respected and sought after for their contributions as performers, band leaders and composers. Together they deliver a captivating performance, seamlessly blending classical, world and Spanish influences. he music grows organically from the interplay between the instruments, reimagining musical landscapes and allowing each performance to take on its own unique shape and character.
ABOUT THE ARTISTS
– DAMIAN WRIGHT –
DAMIAN WRIGHT is an ARIA nominated Flamenco guitarist. Damian recently released his debut album “Shifting Sands” (ABC Music) which was The Sydney Morning Heralds ‘Pick of the week’ where it was described as “Glorious guitar playing”. Damian was invited to perform as a solo artist at The Rajasthan International Folk Festival, INDIA and in 2016 performed at The Shanghai Fringe Festival, CHINA. Damian’s ensemble BANDALUZIA was invited to perform at the biannual Adelaide International Guitar Festival curated by Slava Grigoryan & was a soloist at The Sydney International Guitar festival in 2017 & 2018

Gary Daley is best known as a musician playing in some of the elite bands of Australian jazz; currently James Greening’s band Greening from Ear to Ear and the jazz-world music band The Catholics. He leads the quartet Bungarribee which features his own compositions and interpretations from the classical repertoire.
Daley’s playing has been described as “exquisite” by The Sydney Morning Herald, and his composition for large ensemble, Sanctuary, drew the following response……
