For Men Who Show Up
About
For the Men Who Show Up is a small-group, in-person workshop designed for men supporting children and young people with disability, including fathers, grandfathers, stepfathers, foster carers, kinship carers, uncles, and adult siblings.Facilitated by Bobbi Cook, Senior Therapist and Complex Disability Specialist, alongside her husband Peter, this session offers a practical, honest, and grounded space for men navigating the realities of caring roles.
This is a first-time offering, intentionally designed to be relaxed, conversational, and low-pressure. It is not a clinical or therapy-based session. There is no expectation to share personal experiences—participants are welcome to engage in a way that feels comfortable to them.
The workshop will explore:
The realities of caring roles and the often unseen load carried by men
The impact of ongoing stress on the body and nervous system
Practical, realistic strategies to manage overwhelm and pressure
The role of identity, responsibility, and expectations in male carers
Connection with others who understand the experience
This is a face-to-face only session, with no online option, to support genuine connection and shared understanding.
