The term “relief” refers to any process in print making where the original flat surface of the wood or lino block represents the printing surface. Any parts of the design not to be printed are cut away, leaving the image raised in relief. This is inked with a roller and transferred to paper by direct pressure either by hand or a printing press.
Please wear protective clothing and closed-in shoes. If anyone has lino cutting tools of their own, do bring those along. Also, pens, pencils, rubber and ruler, scrap paper and some ideas for the final lino piece.
Morning tea provided – bring your own lunch – food outlets close by.
