Stained Glass for beginners ; Copperfoil Workshop
About
Our favourite time of year is just around the corner. Join us at our Laverton North studio for a fun workshop learning the craft of copper foil and build your own colourful glass pieces in time for Halloween.Copper foil is a versatile build technique used to put small and intricate pieces of glass together to create a wonderful stained glass piece. This technique can also be used to create 3D pieces such as lamp shades, flowers, dishes and boxes as an example.
Please feel free to follow us at www.instagram.com/ruma_creative_art_studio if you wish to see more examples of our work and what you could be making at our workshops.
At our 2 day workshop, attendees will be taught the basics of glass cutting , grinding and shaping , foiling and soldering. There are loads of fabulous Halloween designs available for use from cobwebs , pumpkins , witchy cats and mushrooms as well as a range of coloured and clear glass for you to use. All tools that are needed , are available for use during your workshop ( but will remain property of RuMa Creative Art Studio ) and your pieces will be ready to take home on the Saturday.
Workshop fee for 2 days is $425 and is all inclusive ; patterns , glass , metals and chemicals. Use of tools is included.
Students do not need any prior training in stained glass, nor do they require an art/ craft background. We also have a 'Working with Children' check though we do not recommend for kids under the age of 15 unless supervised ( Parent must also purchase a ticket ). We are not NDIS registered though the art facility in which we have our studio is Disability Accessible.
Once you have purchased your ticket for our workshop , your place is guarenteed. Should you require a refund or to postpone your attendance , you may do so up to 2 days prior to the workshop. We understand life happens , so anything up to 48 hours prior to the workshop must be communicated to RCAS for a refund/ credit . Anything 24 hours prior will be eligible for a credit only. No communication that you are unable to attend will be considered a no show and you will not be eligible for a refund/ credit.
We will be in touch 2 weeks prior to your workshop to provide you with some studio OH&S guidelines as well as a map and guide on how to find us ; we are 18 kms out west of Melbourne CBD just off the M1 and unfortunately public transport is problematic out this way. Train to Williams Landing then either taxi/ Uber to the studio ( less than 10 minutes away) is possible.
We look forward to you joining us and learning to make amazing art with glass.
