Eid Movie: Pressure Cooker
Location
About
"Pressure Cooker" - The film unflinchingly portrays women crushed by family, society, state, and religion—unprecedented in Bangladeshi commercial cinema. It gives voice to those in Dhaka’s dark alleys, unaware of feminism yet needing it most. A mother works at a massage parlor to pay her son’s madrasa fees, even bribing the cleric for the boys’ meals. Director Rayhan Rafi, writer Mehedi Hasan Moon, and actress Nazifa Tushni merit international acclaim.
