Wellbeing in ministry: Assessing Individual and spiritual characteristics relevant to wellbeing in ministry.Grant will explore
1. how to assess individual wellbeing and risk factors such as personality facets, spiritual resources, religious coping and mental health.
2. how the PAI, NEO, PDS and YSQ provide important foci for questions about functioning in ministry contexts, including case studies.
Dr Grant Bickerton (PhD, MPsych (Couns)) is a senior psychologist working in private practice at Solid Rock Psychology, with 25 years of full-time Christian ministry experience across Australia and the Middle East. Over the past 15 years, he has specialised in the psychological assessment and occupational well-being of ministry candidates. A widely published researcher in the psychology of religion, Grant’s work integrates occupational factors, individual psychological characteristics, and spiritual variables that relate to well-being and distress in ministry. He has taught doctoral-level courses on well-being at Ridley College and Eastern University, blending clinical practice with empirical research.
