Delivered by Areta Farrance, an experienced Trainer & Assessor, Early Childhood Teacher & Bush Kindy Leader with over 20 years in the field. The 'Bush Kindy Foundations' workshop offers participants a unique opportunity to learn in a relaxed and welcoming environment surrounded by the incredible Karawatha Forest on Yuggera Country.
This 3 hour workshop is suitable for Early Years Educators & Junior School Teachers.
Apologies, we are unable to accommodate children at this workshop.
This workshop is ideal for educators & teachers who wish to:
• Gain an overview of Bush Kindy to decide if it is a program you want to establish in your setting
• Start their own Bush Kindy program
• Learn the fundamentals of Bush Kindy
• Already running a program but wish to brush up on various aspects
The workshop will run as follows:
• 9:15am Sign in (Make a cuppa)
• 9:30am First half of the workshop (Indoors)
The first half of the session covers the essential foundations of Bush Kindy. From philosophy and purpose through to the practical and regulatory considerations that underpin a safe, well-run program.
(Brief break - 15 minutes. Tea and coffee provided, please bring your own food if required)
• 11:15am Second half of the workshop (Outdoors)
The second half takes the learning outdoors, exploring how to embed cultural considerations and sustainability into your program, alongside the practical elements of daily rhythms and curriculum design.
• 12:30pm Finish (Receive printed certificate of attendance)
Please come prepared:
• Enclosed toe shoes
• Wet weather gear if raining
• Hat, sunscreen and insect repellent
• Drinking water and snacks if needed
• Notepad and pen (Printed handout provided)
