“From Somewhere” Multicultural Community Dinner
About
Details: Because we are all “From Somewhere”.UNAASA is delighted to share that, as part of Refugee Week 2026, we are launching a multi-year initiative featuring stories from notable Australians on their past and future hopes for Australia, as a generous, informed, inclusive and community-driven society. As well as migrants, it is to highlight the stories of First Nations people.
Our initiative coincides with the 75th anniversary of the UN Convention on the Status of Refugees and 40th year of Refugee Week in Australia, and is held in collaboration with the Australian Migrant Resource Centre.
We are hosting a community dinner at Parwana Afghan Kitchen to showcase Afghan cuisine and a restaurant that represents migrant evolving history and hopes. We are very grateful to have Denis Yengi FCPA (President of the African Communities Council of South Australia, Member of the South Australian Multicultural Commission and Community Leader) as our guest speaker.
We would love for you to join us for this convivial, community experience as part of Refugee Week.
Please arrive 6pm for 6.10pm start.
