Womens Circle with 'Ruptured' contributor Sharon Sztar
About
The Women’s Circle
Hosted and curated by Sharon Sztar, contributing author to Ruptured, we are delighted to hold our first Women’s Circle at the Lamm Jewish Library. Sharon has been holding circles for over two years for members of the Jewish/Israeli community in the Northern Rivers as a response to October 7. She writes about this in her Ruptured essay. The Circle is designed as a safe landing space for women struggling to find an inviting home in other women’s groups due to escalating antisemitism and anti-Israel rhetoric. Come join Sharon for an evening of ceremony, ritual, storytelling, song, group sharing and social connection. We will explore what it means to be a Jewish Australian woman in today’s post October 7 world, viewed through the lens of our shared female lineage/history.
Sharon Sztar is an ex-corporate communications executive turned writer and women's wellbeing advocate. Melbourne-born and bred, Sharon is now based in the NSW Northern Rivers region. Her work and writing explore and challenge narratives about what it means to be a well woman across all seasons of life. More recently she has begun delving into her Jewish roots, including the stories of Judaism's female lineage, and how to live as a modern Jewish woman in a post-October 7 world.
