Welcome to the Prophetic Art Garden, my 6 week acrylic course: Painting Birds with God. I am Lynn Marie Back from Lynn Marie Prophetic Art on the Sunshine Coast where I have been an Art teacher and Prophetic Artist at Churches and Events in South East Qld over many years.
This is not just a painting class this is Prophetic Art Discipleship.
This is a 6-week guided journey where you will learn to hear God clearly and translate what He shows you into a finished bird painting with both meaning and skill. This is an in-person course - NOT an online course.
You will be led step-by-step through:
- Receiving prophetic direction (what bird, why, and for who)
- Understanding symbolism and scripture
- Planning your composition with intention
- Learning accurate sketching and acrylic painting techniques
- Creating a completed artwork that carries a clear message
Alongside this, you will build a daily journaling practice to deepen your connection with God and strengthen your ability to hear His voice.
This is a structured 6 week course, requiring you to attend each week as leads onto the next. It is not a casual drop-in session.

Course Outline
WEEK 1 — HEARING & VISION (REVELATION FOUNDATION)
Core Outcome: Students clearly receive a bird from God, understand its meaning, and lock in direction. Daly journaling with God.
WEEK 2 — STRUCTURE & SKETCHING (FOUNDATION ACCURACY)
Core Outcome: Accurate bird sketch transferred to canvas with correct proportions.
WEEK 3 — THE EYE & BEAK (LIFE & FOCUS POINT)
Core Outcome: Bird begins to feel alive through focal point execution
WEEK 4 — BACKGROUND & ATMOSPHERE (MESSAGE CONTEXT)
Core Outcome: Painting gains atmosphere that supports meaning.
WEEK 5 — FEATHERS & TEXTURE (DETAIL WITHOUT OVERWORKING)
Core Outcome: Controlled realism without over-detailing.
WEEK 6 — FINISHING & RELEASE (PROPHECY COMPLETION)
Core Outcome: Completed artwork, clear prophetic interpretation + final presentation.
MATERIALS
Please bring along to your first lesson a lined journal and pen. Also bring along any of the art materials on the list that you already own. Do not purchase any materials as on the first lesson I can see what you have and what you need to purchase, where to purchase for best price and quality.
FULL KIT CONTENTS
Portable Floor Easel
Canvas to fit easel - 2 x thin Canvas approx 60x50cm
Acrylic Paints: Quality paints. I use Jo Sonya paint tubes. They are a great price for a professional quality paint, they are light fast, flow easily for fast application, & have a matte sheen that doesn’t reflect the lighting. You only need a basic set to start and you can add colours that you use of lot of later. $7 each from Spotlight. Cheaper paint is thin and will take you longer to paint as you need more layers to achieve the colour and coverage that you want.
Acrylic colours:
Cool Red e.g. magenta or crimson
Cool Yellow e.g. lemon yellow
Cool Blue e.g. phthalo or cyan or aqua

Set of brushes (flat + round + filbert) in different sizes

Drop sheet: An easy drop cloth is a single block out curtain is ideal as it has a waterproof backing and fabric front. the fabric side faces upwards, so get a plain dark neutral colour eg, grey, black. (no patterns) $5 Choice Store.
