About
Ages 15 to 17. Upper High School Physics Course. This is Lesson 2 on Motion.
Lesson 1 focused on Average Speed = Distance/Time.
Note it is NOT necessary for the student to have attended Lesson 1 to participate in this lesson.
This event is a Theory and Hands-on Practical Workshop at the new Tiny Science Lab in Terrigal.
The intention is that we will meet most Mondays this term
Homework will also be set.
It will be taught in such a way that students with even a weak background in Maths and Science will still be able to experience success. Students who are stronger in these fields will also have the opportunity to be extended.
It is capped at 10 students in order to give enough attention to each student.
It goes without saying, but I'll say it anyway, both boys and girls are encouraged to attend.
Students will need to bring:
1. A4 lined book.
2. Display Project folder to put A4 size handouts in
3. Pens, Pencils, Ruler and Calculator
4. Mobile phone if possible (Experiments will be filmed in slow motion)
5. Lunch and a drink (There will be a 20 minute lunch break and a 10 minute snack break)
All Physics equipment and resources will be supplied.
Note - The new Tiny Science Lab is a 12 minute walk to the bus stop on the Central Coast Highway. The bus stop is opposite Willoughby Road.
A certificate and outcomes completed will be provided upon the satisfactory completion of each Physics Unit.
