Jodie Stewart & Inner City Strays - The Cats of Australia
About
2.30pm for 3pm Sunday 21 JuneEvery cat has a story.
Join Inner City Strays for an afternoon for In Conversation with Dr Jodie Stewart, as she shares the stories behind her new book The Cats of Australia.
Jodie is a passionate cat historian, dedicated to uncovering the hidden history of cats in Australia — from their arrival on the First Fleet to their place in our homes and streets and today. Her work shines a light on the stories we don’t often hear, blending research, storytelling and a genuine love of cats. From companions and caregivers to survivors and strays, cats have shaped Australia in ways we rarely stop to consider. This beautifully told history explores the deep — and sometimes complicated — bond between humans and cats.
At Inner City Strays, we see these stories every day. The abandoned, the resilient, the deeply loved.
This event is more than a conversation — it’s a fundraiser to support the cats still waiting for their second chance.
Jodie's book will be available to purchase on the day and have paw-sonally signed.
Come for the stories. Stay for the cause. Leave inspired.
