Manual Handling Equipment Masterclass

This practical, hands-on masterclass is designed to build clinician confidence in shower commode prescription and customisation. Participants will gain direct experience adjusting commodes and fitting accessories, while exploring how personal, environmental and occupational factors influence safe and effective use.

Through guided practice and case-based learning, clinicians will develop the skills to tailor equipment solutions that support individual goals, enhance safety, and promote functional independence in everyday care.

Demonstrate understanding of key principles of shower commode prescription and the role of occupational therapy in supporting functional independence
Apply person, environmental and occupational considerations to inform safe and effective commode selection
