Writing for Wellbeing: Germination — Where Ideas Begin
About
Have ideas ever visited you? Sat quietly on your heart, calling you to create, to be, to bring something into the world — yet something always seems to get in the way?Whether it is an art project, a writing project, a creative direction you’ve been circling, or something still forming without clear shape, you are invited to join this Writing for Wellbeing series — a space to return to your ideas with attention, language, and care.
A place to slow down, listen beneath busyness and doubt, and begin giving shape to what wants to emerge. Through writing, reflection, and embodied attention, we reconnect with the deeper thread of creative life.
Set within the natural surrounds of Roto House, these four sessions explore creativity as a living, relational process. Writing becomes a way to listen more deeply, renew perspective, and support creative wellbeing.
Through playful, body-based writing exercises and shared reflection, participants are invited into imagination, memory, and sensory awareness.
Workshop one:
This session invites you to reconnect with what nourishes your creativity, focusing on nourishing ideas and gratitude. We turn toward the quiet moments, small inspirations, and lived experiences that first spark ideas. Through gentle, embodied writing practices, participants are supported to notice sensations in the body, subtle inner images, and the felt sense of what is already alive within them. Writing arises from listening closely — to inner experience, memory, and the early beginnings of creative life.
Each session includes a light meal ($15 contribution).
Supported by Port Macquarie–Hastings Council and Arts Mid North Coast through a Community Grant.
