It's the 20th Anniversary of BKFA (Birthing Kits Foundation Australia)

This May, Join Zonta Club Central Coast for a bonus birthing kit packing day. As long-term partners with BKFA, Central Coast Zonta are pleased to assist BKFA reaching their goal in this milestone year. That is 20,000 birthing kits packed in the month of May.

Zonta Central Coast are regular contributors to the Birthing Kit Foundation, packing up to 3000 kits every 2 years. Although 2026 is our off year, we couldn't resist to participate in the milestone!

At Zonta Central Coast we want a world in which ALL WOMEN and GIRLS have access to a clean and safe birth.

To celebrate 20 years of the Birthing Kit Foundation Australia, BKFA will be holding a National Assembly Event over the month of May 2026.

BKFA aims to pack 20,000 kits across the country during May to acknowledge the milestone of 20 years of the Foundation.
This operation is to pack and supply Clean Birth Kits to pregnant women living in rural communities and low-resource settings around the world.

Kits are given to mothers through community outreach programs, supplied to health facilities for use by doctors, midwives and nurses or distributed to traditional birthing attendants. They are designed to support hygienic practices and environments during childbirth in under-resourced settings. The Clean Birth Kits are simple and effective tools for basic infection prevention and first line childbirth care. Each component has been selected to support the 6 principles of cleanliness at birth for mothers, newborns, and birth attendants in high-risk and emergency settings.
