A young writer named Zoey Dawson is putting on a play reading of her new show, "The Unspoken Word is Joe". This project has been years in the making and she's thrilled to stage it at Downstairs Belvoir. Zoey has organised her friends from University to star in the reading, as well as a famous Actor in Sydney to read her remarkable stage directions. Despite Zoey's dreams of a perfect evening, skeletons from her past and personal relationship dramas take hold and derail the reading. Examining the line between reality and fiction, The Unspoken Word is Joe is a metatheatrical comedy-drama that explores just how far someone will go to further themselves in the Industry.
