ECET South are excited to have Trawlwoolway writer & Nita Education’s Owner/Director, Trish Hodge lead a hands-on workshop at Taroona beach, following on from her bestselling guide to Tassie plants Palawa tunapri.Trish will share her in depth knowledge of traditional uses of native Tasmanian plants for food, medicine and tools by leading us on a walk, inviting us to taste bush tucker, learn about traditional cultural practices and visit a cultural living site.
Trish is a Tasmanian Aboriginal writer, educator, and cultural storyteller dedicated to preserving and sharing the deep ecological and cultural knowledge of Lutruwita/Tasmania. Her work weaves Country, community, and creativity, honouring Palawa heritage and the legacy of her partner, Craig Everett. Through nita Education and her own artistic practice, she helps others connect to land, culture, and the stories that shape us. Trish has recently published to high acclaim: Palawa tunapri Knowledge of Our ancestors.
Trish has spent 20 years researching and documenting the traditional uses of over 350 native Tasmanian plants for food, medicine, tools and seasonal knowledge.
