Symposium 2026
Child & youth service providers, school support staff, health professionals & students studying in the human services field are welcome to join in this year's educational engagement event. This is an excellent professional development opportunity & will address relevant practice issues relating to child protection.
Guest speakers:
Sarah O'Regan, Evolve Therapeutic Services; Sarah has worked with the ETS Ipswich Program for the past 15 years and will be speaking about what she has learnt during this time of the power of positive childhood experiences in helping our young people’s brains grow and thrive despite the adverse experiences they may have faced;
Dr Simone Collier, NDIS Behaviour Support Practitioner, Registered Play Therapist & Mental Health Clinician, Parenting Co-ordinator, will be speaking regarding cumulative harm research;
Luke Tywford, Principal Commissioner, Queensland Family and Child Commission, regarding 'Protecting Queensland’s children in their homes, in organisations, and in the community';
Mark Edmonds, Assistant Director, Community Engagement, National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) regarding NDIS update for child safety professionals;
Young Person, supported by Life Without Barriers, Next Step Plus Ipswich Program.
