'Aware and Prepared' is a practical 6-week Women’s Self Defence introduction course designed to help women feel stronger, safer, and more confident in everyday life. Open to women aged 14 years and older, this beginner program is suitable for all fitness levels and requires no previous experience.

Across six weekly sessions, you will learn simple, effective strategies to improve awareness, set clear boundaries, and respond confidently to threatening situations. The course also explores practical skills for dealing with both physical intimidation and the emotional patterns often linked to domestic violence.

One of the great gaps in modern society is that self-defence education receives very little attention if anything at all. It is rarely discussed, rarely taught, and all too often only considered after violence has already occurred and damage is done. 'Aware and Prepared' aims to change that by giving women practical knowledge before it is ever needed.

For women who have already been the target of violence, intimidation, or controlling behaviour, this course can also be a positive step forward, offering a pathway to re-establish personal boundaries, rebuild self-confidence, and develop practical skills so you feel stronger, and better prepared should you ever need them again.

The goal is to empower women through greater confidence, practical capability, and logical decision-making under pressure. You will train in a respectful, supportive environment where every participant can progress at her own pace.

Whether you are joining for yourself, your daughter, a friend, or a fresh start, 'Aware and Prepared' is about helping women reclaim her confidence, recognise her value, and feel more empowered in the world around them.

Starts Saturday 6th of June and concludes on 18th of July** (NOTE: No session on the 20th June)
