CCS Essentials for Non-technical Professionals
This course provides non-technical professionals with a clear, practical introduction to Carbon Capture and Storage. The course uses visual and examples-based learning to explain how the CCS value chain works from capture and transport through to secure, permanent geological storage.
The course places CCS in the context of climate change, Australia’s emissions reduction framework, and the Safeguard Mechanism, and explores what makes CCS projects successful, including risk management, monitoring and verification, regulation, and public confidence. Common misconceptions about CCS are addressed using real-world project experience and data, concluding with a facilitated discussion on supporting informed policy and regulatory decision-making.
CO2 utilisation and hydrogen are not covered in this course.
