Why wait for holiday workshops when you can have fun on a Saturday morning learning to build, code and explore the wonderful world of LEGO robotics! Explore the role of robots in the real world by solving themed tasks over two action-packed 2.5 hour workshops! Each session has a new theme to solve! Small groups, maximum 6 attendees to enable more personalised instruction in a non-competitive setting.When: 9:00am - 11:30am Saturday 16 & 23 May 2026
Where: Community Co-Lab Lightning Lane, Maroochydore
Cost: $135+ booking fee (from $3.88* see T&Cs)
What you will need:
- A charged laptop (we will provide the software link to be downloaded in advance)
- A creative and collaborative mindset
- A water bottle
- No prior experience needed!
What you’ll do:
- Work in pairs
- Learn how best to design and build LEGO mechanisms using gears, sensors and motors
- Learn how to code your robot to autonomously complete tasks
- Develop teamwork and communication skills
Program Overview:
Session 1 - Repair & Rescue
- Build and code your LEGO robot to repair damaged infrastructure
- Innovate your LEGO robot and code it to undertake an interactive locate-and-rescue task
Session 2 - Reef Restoration
- Develop your LEGO robot to help restore a coral reef
- Innovate your LEGO robot to complete a fish classification and relocation task

About Your Instructors:
Robotics In Paradise is the collaboration of multi National and International award winning youth robotics brothers - Elliott and Laurence Mitchell. Experienced not only in CAD design, building, coding and competing in robotics since 2018, but facilitating robotics sessions both privately and on behalf of primary and secondary schools from Coolum to Newmarket since 2022.
Both instructors are studying towards innovative futures in robotic and aerodynamics engineering fields including how these interact with climate science and all things that move fast!
