Oscar Lush is an interdisciplinary artist, composer, and multi-instrumentalist working across sound, sculpture, performance, and moving image. The Quarter Inch Bells is an instrument of sorts. Multiple reel-to-reel tape recorders are linked to stretch sound & space in real time, transforming household objects, toy-instruments, and found sounds into something with a spiritual, almost ceremonial, quality.
Khyaal Vocal Ensemble is an improvising a cappella project exploring intuitive expression of the naked voice. Joined by violinists Lily Tait and Mirren Strahan, this collaboration explores four distinct voices responding through mindful spontaneity and deep listening. Khyaal taps into something inexplicable and timeless in their works - a humble display of human vulnerability, self expression and connection.
