“The Sum of Us” by David Stevens follows Harry Mitchell, a widowed father, and his gay son, Jeff, as they navigate love, family, and social prejudice in contemporary Australia. Harry dreams of owning a home and finding companionship, while Jeff searches for a meaningful relationship.
Through humour and heartfelt moments, the play explores acceptance, loyalty, and the strength of family bonds, highlighting the challenges and rewards of embracing diversity and understanding others.
“The Sum of Us” will show for eight performances at Murwillumbah Civic Centre Auditorium over two weekends. Opening Night is Thurs July 23rd with a complimentary glass of bubbly from 6.30 pm

Please be aware that this play will be performed as “theatre in the round” at floor level and not on the stage, giving the audience a more intimate view of the performance. Consequently, there will be no BYO, but food and drink will be available to purchase. A licensed bar will operate while the canteen will serve tea, coffee, cake and precooked meals.
