We’re delighted to welcome internationally acclaimed singer-songwriter Brett Perkins to Seaford, Victoria this May.Born in California and now based in Copenhagen, Brett brings with him a rich musical journey shaped across 39 countries. His songs and distinctive vocals feature on more than 20 commercial releases, including a number one co-written single with Danish artist Mads Langer, as well as film and television placements spanning MTV’s Road Rules, NBC productions, and the Danish series Anna Pihl. His work has also been recognised with awards including First Prize in both the Great American Song Contest and the Australian Song Contest.
During his time in Seaford (6–17 May), Brett will be part of a very special event—performing at Fiona Basile’s book launch of The Next Wave at the Frankston Arts Centre—and will also host an intimate Living Room Concert in Seaford, offering a rare opportunity to experience his music up close. The ticket includes the concert, and light refreshments.
Beyond performing, Brett is deeply committed to nurturing songwriting communities around the world. He is the founder of the Listening Room International Songwriting Retreats and the Copenhagen, Galway, Idyllwild, Luang Prabang, Phnom Penh, Siem Reap and Tuscany Songwriters Festivals, and has previously served as Executive Director of the National Academy of Songwriters in Hollywood, where he played a primary role in presenting the works of many of songwriting’s most legendary names, including Burt Bacharach, Jackson Browne, Leonard Cohen, Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell, Graham Nash, Randy Newman, Tom Petty, Stephen Stills, Diane Warren and Stevie Wonder.
