Formed in 1966 by legendary Mexican-American guitarist Carlos Santana, Santana is a pioneering Rock and Roll Hall of Fame band renowned for brilliantly fusing rock, blues, and jazz with traditional Latin American and Afro-Cuban percussion rhythms. After breaking out with a legendary performance at the 1969 Woodstock festival, the group defined early-70s Chicano rock with iconic, soul-stirring hits like 'Black Magic Woman' and 'Oye Como Va,' alongside sweeping instrumentals like 'Samba Pa Ti'. Decades later, they achieved a historic commercial resurgence with their 1999 blockbuster album Supernatural, which tied a record with eight Grammy Awards and yielded monumental, chart-topping smash singles featuring guest vocalists, such as 'Smooth' (with Rob Thomas) and 'Maria Maria'.
