Trees in the Triangle - Opening Event
About
You are invited to the official opening of our next exhibition - "Trees in the Triangle".It will be an homage to & a celebration of the life sustaining trees in the "triangular" geographical area from Pt Noarlunga South to Sellicks Beach & inland to Kangarilla.
The depicted oil painting by Eileen Lubiana of the “Battle of Bosworth Winery,” is the promotional image of this exhibition.
Almond & olive orchards, ancient majestic gums & the historically significant tree which the Australian explorer Sturt camped at during his exploration of Australia will be exhibited.
Over 25 living artists have painted, illustrated, printed & sculpted trees using a wide variety of artistic techniques & media.
A highlight of the exhibition is artwork by Hans Heysen. We have two delicate pencil and charcoal drawings, which will be on display for the 3-month duration of the exhibition.
In addition there will be several other loaned artworks by well-known artists such as Dave Dallwitz, David Dridan and Christobel Kelly plus many works of art by local artists which will be for sale.
Our hope is that most, of these artworks will resonate with the viewer’s positive connection to trees, not only for their aesthetic beauty, but also for all the life sustaining benefits trees provide to all species & life forms on earth.
