Sydney Acting Studio is thrilled to collaborate with Feet First Collective to present a dynamic two-part masterclass series: Freeing Character & Creating Physical Theatre with Teresa Izzard and Samuel Addison.Feet First Collective is an award-winning Australian theatre company known for its bold, immersive and physically driven work, including Frankenstein, S-27, Medusa and Shadow Boxing. Their approach centres on embodiment, transformation, and creating powerful theatrical experiences that resonate with contemporary audiences.
In Masterclass 1, actors will explore Laban and somatic movement principles to unlock physical freedom, expand range, and deepen character embodiment. In Masterclass 2, the focus shifts to Anne Bogart’s Viewpoints and Composition, equipping actors with practical tools for improvisation, ensemble work, and the creation of original performance.
This is a unique opportunity to step beyond text-based analysis and into physical storytelling. Expect a rehearsal-style environment, hands-on exploration, and a process designed to challenge instincts, build awareness, and elevate your work both on screen and stage.
