Writing for well-being: Tender Shoots — Feeling the Shadow (SOLD OUT)
About
Have ideas ever visited you? Sat quietly on your heart, calling you to create, to be, to bring something into the world — yet something always seems to get in the way?Whether it is an art project, a writing project, a creative direction you’ve been circling, or something still forming without clear shape, you are invited to join this Writing for Wellbeing series — a space to return to your ideas with attention, language, and care.
A place to slow down, listen beneath busyness and doubt, and begin giving shape to what wants to emerge. Through writing, reflection, and embodied attention, we reconnect with the deeper thread of creative life.
Set within the natural surrounds of Roto House, these four sessions explore creativity as a living, relational process. Writing becomes a way to listen more deeply, renew perspective, and support creative wellbeing.
Through playful, body-based writing exercises and shared reflection, participants are invited into imagination, memory, and sensory awareness.
Workshop 2: Tender Shoots — Feeling the Shadow
As ideas begin to take shape, we meet the tender ground of honouring challenge and vulnerability. This session creates space to stay with doubt, uncertainty, and resistance, not as obstacles to move past, but as part of the creative process itself. Through grounded, body-aware writing, participants are invited to remain present with emotional texture and sensation, allowing what feels difficult to be witnessed and written with care. Writing becomes a way of staying with what is real, and discovering what is quietly forming beneath it.
Each session includes a shared bowl of hot soup ($15 contribution).
Supported by Port Macquarie–Hastings Council and Arts Mid North Coast through a Community Grant.
