Women's & Children's Hospital Foundation Community Wills Day
About
Plan for your future and protect the people you care about, while helping support the work of the Women’s & Children’s Hospital Foundation.
Through our Community Wills Day, experienced solicitors from Mellor Olsson have generously donated their time to provide simple Will appointments at a significantly reduced rate of $200 for individuals and $280 for couples (normally valued between $600–$1,000). All proceeds from this initiative go directly to supporting the vital work of the Women’s & Children’s Hospital Foundation.

About Simple Wills
A Simple Will is usually appropriate for people who have typical assets such as a bank account, a property, or superannuation; a simple family structure such as one spouse and children, or people who are single and childfree; and a reasonably small list of people who they would like to include as beneficiaries. A simple Will entails:
- appointing executors to deal with the administration of the estate,
- perhaps the appointment of a guardian for children,
- no more than one or two simple gifts
- setting out who the residue will pass to, and if that person or those people have died, then substitute beneficiaries.
If your circumstances are complex (see below) and a Simple Will does not meet your needs, or if you require additional services such as a Power of Attorney or Advanced Care Directive, your solicitor will discuss these options with you at your appointment.
About Complex Wills
If you have a family trust, a blended family or you own a business, you may need a Complex Will. In this case, your solicitor will be happy to discuss your situation at an appointment and will provide you with a quote on how much extra this will be, taking into account your initial contribution to the WCH Foundation.
Leaving a gift in my Will to the WCH Foundation
The WCH Foundation are so grateful to supporters who choose to leave a gift in their Will. Even a small percentage of your estate can make a huge difference and all gifts in Wills are gratefully received, but of course there is no obligation to do so. If you'd like to learn more about supporting our work with a gift in your Will visit wchfoundation.org.au/bequests or contact us for a confidential discussion.
