Writing Achievable Short Films
About
Designing a story you can actually produce — not just imagine. If you’ve got an idea but aren’t sure how to make it achievable, this session is for you.
We’ll explore how to write short films that can realistically be produced — shaping scripts around accessible locations, manageable cast sizes and practical budgets, without losing creative ambition.
Featuring Diane Vu, Jeremy Teh and Denis Curnow, who each bring very different approaches to writing and development. Together, they’ll share how they build their stories — and how those stories translate into projects that actually get made.
Whether you’re starting from scratch or refining an existing idea, you’ll leave with practical tools to shape your project into something producible — and a clearer path to getting it off the ground.
This session is part of a series leading into the July pitch competition — designed to help you develop and present a project that’s ready to put forward.
